This page defines roster size limits, composition requirements, and organizational player minimums for both Major League and AAA teams, including in-season rules and offseason flexibility.

Roster Limits
Major League Active Roster:
- The standard Major League roster is limited to 25 players.
Expanded Active Roster:
- Rosters may expand to 30 players beginning with the first simulation after September 1.
AAA Roster Minimum:
- AAA rosters must maintain a minimum of 25 players.
In-Season Organizational Roster Limits:
- Maximum: 55 total players
- Minimum: 50 total players
Roster Composition Requirements
- Teams are responsible for maintaining a balanced roster with a sufficient number of pitchers and position players.
- A team may not consist entirely of one role (e.g., 25 pitchers or 25 batters).
- Teams must carry enough players to reasonably fill all required on-field roles.
- AAA rosters are subject to the same positional responsibility and must also maintain adequate coverage at all positions.
Offseason Roster Flexibility
- During the offseason, teams may temporarily exceed roster limits or fall below minimum requirements while roster construction is ongoing.
- All teams must return to full roster compliance by league-established deadlines prior to the start of the regular season.
